This is an author who you’ll automatically buy their newest release, no questions asked, and read it as soon as you get home.

For me, it’s Stephen King! I’ve rarely been disappointed by a King novel (although, ironically, one of his latest releases Fairy Tale that I preordered actually was a miss for me. Still doesn’t deter my love for him!)

I think it’s awesome that there are writers in this world we would spend money for at the drop of a hat, it’s a type of trust we have with the author to basically guarantee enjoyment from their latest work.

So who’s your automatic author?

I will let Patrick Radden Keefe explain ANYTHING to me. That man can write non-fiction.

Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child. Either together because I love the Pendergast books or solo. They just write good books.
James Rollins because I love the combination of science and myth he has in his books.
Lee Child because I absolutely love Jack Reacher.

Laura Purcell. I happened across her by chance as I liked the cover of a book and I’ve loved everything she’s written.

Nathan Hill. Loved the Nix and his new book is in my queue.

I was also big into Junot Diaz because I thought Oscar Wao was tremendous, but sadly he was MeToo’d a few years ago.

There’s a lot but I’ll say Jim Butcher as I pre-ordered Olympian Affair and it just arrived. I really liked Aeronauts Windlass and I feel like I’ve been waiting forever for more of this world.
