I really think Precious needs to be taken out of the rotation.
He looked special during the 2nd half of 21-22. Outside of that, he’s been pretty bad, and at some point, you have to stop giving him the benefit of the doubt.
Offensively, he can’t shoot on a consistent basis, but he still takes more shots than he should.
Defensively, after his absurd comments about being one of the best defenders in the NBA, I decided to watch him more closely on the defensive end. He’s not great. He offers very little physical resistance when guys drive on him, and he typically gives up the drive so he can contest at the rim. Physicality is very important on the defensive end. OG stands his ground, and it’s very difficult for anyone to get where they want to go on him. Precious does not. He’s not a great defender.
Precious spoke about guarding 1s to 5s. All because you are put on different players doesn’t mean you do a good job on them or that you are a great defender.
I hope Precious proves me wrong, but at some point, you are who you are, and his minutes are significantly hurting the team.
At this point we gotta give the young guys confidence. I’m more worried about developing Precious, Malachi, Dick, Koloko, etc. than trying to win every game, especially in early season. His potential is still super high, and poor decision making is fixable
I’m in the same camp. He had one good half of a season and has been utter dogshit aside from that. Don’t think there’s a single thing Precious does at even a good level in the NBA.
Let’s not get too crazy until he’s played at least 10 games. Boston was his first game back in awhile and it was against the best team in the league.
I can’t be the only one who sees this though. These guys that don’t touch a basketball until high school are TRASH. There’s such a huge distance of skill and understanding of the game that they just lack.
For perspective, when Precious first picked up a basketball, Luka had already been signed to a club and was one of the most promising players in Europe.
He just missed 2 weeks with an injury. Relax.
He’s not going to get better if he’s glued to the bench.
It’s starting to be obvious the guy just isn’t an NBA player
