So the story allegedly is that first Xayah was OP and everyone wanted Xayah and Rakan and then if they can’t get those it’s Kaisa and something like Alistar. Then suddenly T1 played one series where they played pushing poke lane bot and now suddenly the whole meta shifted.

This makes no sense to me for several reasons:

1. Why did everyone think Xayah and Rakan were OP to begin with? They didn’t have any huge changes recently nor did any system changes really benefit them.
2. Why are pushing poke supports suddenly “OP” when they also had no changes. Like people were playing Heimer and Ashe and Caitlyn all year long and it always did the “thing” that it’s supposed to do which is push and poke and get plates and be oppressive and be useless if it loses lane. Like there was never a point where you couldn’t draft Cait Lux vs Xayah Rakan.
3. Are pro players just really dumb to never try things until they see T1 do it and win a series? Like did everyone just never even try Ashe support in scrims and then suddenly T1 does it once and everyone is like ok we have to do this?? Did T1 just never scrim the poke support thing and then just pull it out on stage and pull a fast one on people?

Seems kinda weird tbh. It feels like the “meta” is the 3 top teams draft something everyone copies them without thinking and then they draft something else and everyone copies them too with no rhyme or reason. Like all the teams that played Aphelios also looked pretty good no one’s talking about him being “meta” in pro play but honestly it def looked really good in the WBG series and Kaisa also looked really good in JDG vs KT series.
