So Havertz, here’s why I’m giving him time. Good profile - tall, surprisingly fast, and quite strong which is useful for a hold-up player. He is hardworking even if he doesn’t look it and has good technique. And also importantly for me, he has been improving since coming here - far from the level of a 65M player but the upward trajectory can be seen.
I don’t begrudge his critics at all, and they make valid points. I just personally find it annoying to read the same things posted about him match after match regardless of our result or his influence on said result.
Don’t let the late 4-4 drama distract from the fact that Anthony Taylor was demoted to the Championship for an awful call, makes another awful call in the Championship, before coming back to the PL the next week, given the biggest game of the weekend and making another terrible call for the City pen.
PGMOL remains not fit for purpose
I totally understand why Havertz fans are so defensive… there are a lot of trolls here and fans who take joy in losing/trolling and would prefer to be right than have Arsenal do well.
But some of the comments about him are very unserious, we don’t have to pretend he played well at the weekend to counteract these trolls lol.
I think there’s almost no one would prefer to be right than have Arsenal do well.
And I don’t think gloating about being right about Havertz means that you’d rather be right. it means he’s proving you right until he performs consistently.

Unai Emery spent north of 230m during his time in Arsenal and finished 5th in his first season with us.
He’s doing a great job in Villa right now, but they have spent 120m since he arrived and Villa finished 7th last season and will probably finish 5th/6th this season.

What do you guys think of Julian Brandt? Watched a bit of Dortmunds CL games and he’s usually deployed as an 8/10 but sometimes on the wing as well. His dribbling and close control is pretty damn good and has an eye for goal. I haven’t seen enough of his passing to really say anything rho
He has Mkhitaryan syndrome. Talented guy but doesn’t have the consistency we would need.
everything is either perfect or he can’t seem to get anything right, albeit just by a couple inches. Thats the vibe I got from him when I watched more of him like years ago. Could have improved for all I know

I don’t get why people dismiss tap in merchants in this day and age. In the present PL environment if someone is good at tapping it in it speaks volumes about the player’s skills. I know dribbles and flair make for good viewing, and make it easier to like a player, but “he’s just a tap in merchant” is not a valid criticism imo. In fact it can only be valid in context like a game that would benefit from a false 9 rather than a traditional 9 but not as a blanket statement
Did anyone else forget to pay attention to the scheduling of the games and overlook that we had another international break lol, I found out about it after we beat Burnley.
