I’ve just completed Alan Wake II, which is one of my favourite games of the year. Truly phenomenal. However, a lot of people would continuously say about how scary it is and, to me, it wasn’t scary at all. The game is super new so I won’t say more than that.
It made me think - what’s the scariest moment in any video game for you? Maybe add spoiler tags if the game is new.
For me P.T. - the whole demo - is the only time I’ve been truly terrified to play a video game before. Resident Evil 7 is one of my favourite games of all time with some tense gameplay moments and brilliant set-pieces, but that didn’t scare me very much either.
Anything from any other video game really scare you?
That giant baby in Resident Evil 8 fucked me up.
You mean Rose?
Dying Light. The first night.
Resident evil 2’s opening with the girl, I didn’t keep going with the game once I hit the precinct…
Amnesia: the dark Descent. Lot’s of really scary moments, but my #1 was when the room you’re in fills with water and after a few moments of silence there is this little splash splash splash towards you. You dont even see the fish, but damn did I panic
When that dog busted in through the window of the first Resident Evil.
The dentist in Bioshock. He just appeared behind you. Undies change.
Playing Classic Nazi Zombies for the first time. I remember finally beating the campaign to World at War and thinking the game was done, i was DEAD wrong.
