Have 2 timeouts and about a 1:30 left. SEA has all three timeouts. We have a chance to “take our time” and get into field goal range if possible. But we have to be careful about it because we can’t try and throw throw throw and give the ball back to SEA with all or 2 timeouts left. Instead we blister through 3 plays as fast as humanly possible and Sea watches us rush to the line on third down with 1:05 left on the clock(rushing as fast as we can) and throw an incomplete slant route. If we take our time with that play then maybe you grab that first down with say 40 seconds left and 1 TO remaining at your own 40 yd line. Or on the flip side you’re punting the ball back to SEA with 40 seconds left instead of 1:05.

At the commercial break before we started that drive I said to the People around me watching the game “we have to be methodical here, we can’t rush it and give SEA the Advantage, we have to play it both ways and take whatever we get” (Either force Sea to burn TOs if they want the ball back or we slow roll it and see if we can clip off some yards without rushing to the line since we had 2 timeouts) I’m just a guy on my couch saying this so how can the coaches making millions not have the same sense?

Sea ends up getting 0 points but not for the lack of effort. They were comfortably in field goal range with a TO left and 20 seconds remaining. It’s those little end of half or end of game situations that end up burning us and the little things that separate good teams from bad.
