I’m planning a build to treat myself for pulling through a tough year.

I’m between a 7800X3D and the 14900K. My main use would be gaming at 3440x1440.

I have an intel upgrade history: 2600K>4790K>10900K. Needless to say, I’m very happy with the brand.

In my region, the AMD CPU is cheaper than the 14900K, like its meant to be

BUT

The motherboards for AMD are way more expensive for some reason.

I came across an MSI Meg Z690 ACE for a very good price.

Would I be shooting myself in the foot buying this and 14900K instead of a Z790?

The ram would be a TridentZ5 6600mhz if that matters at all.
