He just isn’t doing anything that warrants an extension frankly. He’s not an X, he doesn’t get open, he’s not a ball-winner. Yeah, they aren’t using him correctly whatsoever - but that’s a problem with bringing in someone that did so much of his damage in Atlanta from the slot when we already have two other guys that primarily work from the slot.

Personally, I think they should just let him walk and either draft someone or sign Tee Higgins. Need a big-bodied outside ball-winner.

Ridley has to take some blame, he’s had some drops this year and miscommunication issues. But the bulk of the blame goes to Press here. He is not being utilized properly at all. He just lines up on the outside and runs his route. No stack formations, no motion, nothing. They need to get creative to get him touches especially as teams continue to key on him.

He’s still really talented and hasn’t slowed down at all. Still runs great routes and has all the skill in the world, if we let him go to a team that utilizes him properly he will go off.

Y’all commenting that it’s the system are proving my point. He doesn’t fit the system. Get someone that does because we aren’t getting rid of that bum ass Press Taylor. Keep the 2nd rounder and the money and let him walk.

Ridleys entire route tree this year has been:

    1. Comeback
    2. Speed out
    3. Go

That’s basically it. He’s being criminally misused. He’s an elite tier route runner who’s, for some reason, not being asked to win on quick slants for example.

He ran one the entire game yesterday. It was a 10 yd completion basically for free.
