Must be frustrating to play against Zverev when he’s serving like Karlovic.

    130s at near 80% 1st serve % is unfair.

Zverev plays well indoors and was serving well today. Quite disappointed with the result tbh. Let’s see how he does against Medvedev and Rublev. Again Alcaraz is quite young and everyone loses sometimes, doesn’t mean that he has already peaked as some people are saying, give the guy some time to find his footing.

Both players showed flashes of brilliance. Zverev stole the match in the decider with that break.

Alcaraz is just tired, it’s been a long season. His mentality and physicality struggle especially during longer matches, and he tends to decline as the match goes on.

He needs to rest and take a break, and focus on himself and start the new season fresh.

I can see Alcaraz going 0-3.

I hope I am proved wrong.

Decent effort from Alcaraz. But Zverev’s familiarity to this court prevailed today.

    Serve + Inshallah moment.

Alcaraz didn’t help himself though, weird and uncharacteristic decisions all at critical times.

Despite the loss, Alcaraz’s level was better than in the last few months, still some mental quips but still an improvement, not easy for anyone to defeat the 2nd and 3rd set Zverev.

Every match going forward is do or die for Alcaraz now, though.

It feels like Alcaraz is the best at punishing weak/mediocre serves but big servers can trouble him just as much as they trouble anyone

77% first serve in and 79% first serve points won for Zverev today

Carlitos looks like he’s ready for the off-season…
