I have AT&T 1gig up and down. I get these speeds or close to it wired, but on wireless with some distance from the router (Asus AX-rt86u) my speeds lose symmetry and the upload progressively gets slower compared to the download speed. It’s not very noticeable in the same room as the router. This is across old laptops as well as the 6e Samsung Galaxy 22 Ultra. I’ve checked the speeds from the gateway direct to the modem and find full speed. Only wireless does the upload start lagging behind the download. This occurs on 2.4 as well as 5Ghz and across all channels and channel widths. Shouldn’t the speed stay relatively symmetrical or is there a setting I missed - or is this expected on wireless? Thanks.

Im no expert but this suggests to me that either the transmitters of your devices are not very powerful or the receiver of your hotspot is not recieving the signal well. Either way you are likely dropping upload packets so they are having to be repeated causing speed loss.

Does it vary within line of sight or are there walls in the way?
