In the car buying process and just stumbled upon this feature in the '23 CX-50.

It seems like you can’t turn on the car without your seatbelt for the alarm instantly screaming at you. Whereas most other vehicles the alarm only goes off after you have shifted into gear without your seatbelt. Is this correct?

I did a test drive, but assumed the alarm was going off bc the sales guy drove it without the seatbelt.

If this is correct - is there any way to disable it??

(Before ppl shit their pants - no I don’t drive without my seatbelt. However, I do like to be in my car while in park, get my music right, nav right, aka everything sorted before I put my seatbelt on and take off.)

One thing I like about the CX-5…clearly different design teams. Although they did greatly crank up the volume of the alarm vs prior years, at least it doesn’t start until you pass 5 mph or so.
