This team was special man. That defence was generational, Collin on the ground was unstoppable so annoying that he didn’t run once on that final drive against the Ravens. Patrick Willis will forever be my favourite 9er I’ve seen (born in 2000). Can’t fucking believe we haven’t won a SB since 95 these teams were so special. Got me thinking how different the last 8 years would’ve been if Collin wasn’t, well Collin.
Man, we’ve had so many SB runs ended by the tiniest of margins, usually refball.
2011 - Kyle Williams 3 turnovers in NFCCG
2012 - Crabtree mugged in the end zone, no call
2013 - Crime of the CenturyLink NFCCG
2019 - Chiefs penalty-free zone neutralizes the 49ers pass rush
2021 - Tartt drops easy interception that would have sealed a win vs Rams
2022 - Purdy injured on his first play in the NFCCG, just after the Eagles were gifted a non-catch that would have turned the ball over on downsIt’s simple. In a game where we rushed for 180+ yards, ROMAN decided to pass 3 straight times on the 5 yard line. We laugh at the Hawks 1 yard line fail but that choke job was almost equally as bad given our dual threat QB + Gore.
How do you not give Gore at least 1 carry? Or 2 or 3 or 4?
The way that defense was playing, let’s assume Kap scores on the play that was blown dead due to Harbaugh panicking and taking a timeout. That would have been with 1:50 remaining in the game. Now for the sake of argument and we’ll play the % here, they don’t get the 2 pts to make it a 3 point lead.
The way their defense was playing do we really feel confident they would have stopped them from getting into FG Range?
I don’t, myself Even if they did get the 2 pts to make it a 3 ot lead, same question applies, but you’d be playing in OT
