Yep, they are doing what the Celtics, Grizzlies, Cavs, and Bucks did last year by playing their shotblocking 4 as a weakside defender instead of as a primary rim protector.
Those were the top 4 defenses in the NBA btw.
Exactly and Wembys even skinnier/weaker than those guys. Also probably lessens the injury risk.
thats why I don’t get why Kerr stupidly made JJJ the 5 in FIBA instead of putting him as the weakside helper. yet people blamed JJJ for playing the role that doesn’t fit his style or utilize his strengths
