A few months back, sadly, on a sleep deprived state I spilled my water bottle all over my laptop, and that was the end of it. I opened it up back then to salvage parts like the SSD, HDD, and ram. Recently I formatted the HDD and now have a extra backup. Was just wondering if the ram would be something I could try to use to upgrade another laptop’s 8GB to 16GB, but fear it could short out the new laptop and I should have just bought a new kit instead.

As long as the Ram doesn’t have visible corrosion damage you can try it out, if it works its fine, if not throw it in the garbage.
