With the way this season is going we’re getting no playoffs and a shit first round pick just like last year, 12-18 depending on how we finish. We have an extra 2nd and 3rd pick from Sweat/Young. A mid-first pick likely wouldn’t move the needle at our key positions. So what do we do?

Trade up.

Olu Fashanu, OT out of Penn State (as a fan, I’ve seen him. He’s the real deal). Projected number 5 pick in the draft. Top OL talent this year.

The Cardinals, Giants, and Bears are projected to have the top picks this year.

Cards will undoubtedly take Caleb Williams #1 overall, or maybe Marvin Harrison Jr if they don’t get the top pick.

Giants have OL needs, but they’re looking at interior linemen, not tackles.

Bears need to address their defense, specifically the pass. Their picks will prioritize that.

Let’s face it: our front office is dog shit. They can’t draft a real draft class to save their lives. We need an OL anchor bad. We had it with Trent, but… yeah…

So go all in. Put our chips on the table for a stud at a priority position. Fill gaps with later picks, maybe hold onto a 2nd or 3rd as contingency.

We need to rebuild our OL from the ground up. Picking up Fashanu is the best way to do that.

We can get 2-3 good ol prospects and a linebacker and de with those 5 picks. Much rather have all of that than one stud.

I think if we have better evaluators of talent in the building then it doesn’t matter where we pick.
