I was part of the group where pre-orders took a very long time since the first time and my Steam Deck is still running well since I got mine. It felt like it was too soon to release the newer model and the pushiness of buying it to replace your older model is not good. Just like how people buy new smart phones yearly, it’s just contributing to the e-waste problem and it’s just not money-smart in times like these.

If you still want to get the new model to replace yours, I’m not gonna stop you. You might have a legitimate reason but do ask yourself this: Do you really need the latest model right now?
