Hi, was wondering if any of you might be able to identify the problem here. I have a 2013 Toyota Corolla S manual transmission with 95k miles.

Car was driving fine and I parked in a parking lot. Idled while I was waiting, never turned it off. When I started backing out to leave, I noticed the steering wheel was really tough to move, like it was locked. Drove a short distance and parked elsewhere, car seemed to be running fine aside from steering wheel. At that point I noticed the vehicle stability assist program light was on (symbol with car on road with two wavey lines). I tried pushing the vehicle stability button, did nothing. I tried turning off the car and turning it on again, the ignition noise as I twisted the key sounded weak but it started fine. Idled the car longer as I googled, but when I went to leave I was able to back out but then it’s like the car died, lights on dash went off. Was barely able to coast into another spot. I turned off the car and wasn’t able to start it again (no sputtering from ignition, completely silent).

A few weeks ago had taken the car in to get oil changed and they did diagnostic and everything was fine (only recommended AC service and fuel intake cleaning).

One thing I will mention is that for a couple months, the ignition would sputter for a bit when I went to start the car after I had driven it for a while during the day, then left it parked for a while. Though when I would start the car in the morning after waking up, it would start just fine. I thought this was a battery issue with a magnetic phone charger I have plugged into a cigarette lighter adapter so this weekend I bought a UsbC to Usb adapter so I could plug it in there. When I plugged it in, it only charged off and on, seemed broken so I went back to using the cigarette lighter adapter to charge the phone. I did leave the usbc to usb dongle in the usb slot. Could this have screwed up my electrical system? Or does it sound like something else? Any quick fix I could do to reboot the electrical system? Thanks!
