So here’s my situation: I have a brand new Netgear GS324-100NAS that I purchased online. I have it plugged into my router. Coming from the switch, I have an ethernet cable that goes into a USB-C adapter, then into a USB-C splitter, and finally into the side of my MacBook Pro. Every now and then my connection seems to randomly fail. No websites will load and it appears as though I have no internet connection even though in settings it shows it’s connected. I have found that if I open system settings, go into network, select the connection and click make inactive, and then make it active again it fixes the issue. But it inevitably happens again. What is likely the issue? I plan to attempt to run the ethernet from the switch directly to my laptop with the adapter, and see if that helps, which would insinuate that the USB-C splitter is the issue. If that doesn’t make a difference, I will also try switching the ethernet port on the switch to rule out a faulty port on the switch. I have read that this switch has had issues and of course it is a discontinued model. I’m not sure if the switch is even the issue though. I have tried streaming video on my smart TV using a separate port on the switch and that does not get interrupted so it seems like the only issue is my computer. I appreciate any and all advice.

PS: In the Q&A section of the USB-C adapter that I am using it, displays the following question and answer, which leads me to believe I might be doing something wrong:
Can the product support connecting a USB-C to J45 adapter?
The product supports connecting a USBC to RJ45 vou need to manuallv set the IP.
