I am moving to a house in a rural area, and am looking for advice on my planned setup. We will have two remote workers on zoom a lot, so I’m planning on having Starlink and the local fixed wireless internet (25 down / 3 up) provider as a fallback. My initial thoughts after research and looking through posts on this sub are to go the Omada route. My concern is that I am not exactly an IT guy so I worry about how technical this might get, but I’m capable enough to be able to try to figure things out when problems to arise. Here’s my plan:

  • It’s a new build, so I had them run cat5 cables throughout the house, terminating in a 28" Leviton enclosure
  • ER605 - Dual WAN, so Starlink ethernet adapter and fixed wireless would connect to this (question: given the speed disparity, will load-balancing work well, or should this be a fallback scenario?)
  • TL-SG2210P 8 port switch
  • OC200 Controller
  • 2x EAP610

Does this setup seem reasonable for a non-IT person, or is it overkill and/or should I attempt to go a simpler route?

I’d really appreciate any advice - thanks in advance!
