The first time I watched the series I found myself excusing every single one of his poor actions. I found myself looking at him through rose colored glasses if you will. The second time I rewatched it I kinda realized he was a douche. Still have empathy for him, but finally let myself see his flaws

It’s a dark show about an addict, there’s a lot of obvious lessons in the show, like “men in showbiz will probably do this thing because the world has historically let that happen” I think you’re probably giving too much weight to the character instead of looking at the broader picture.
