If Hauser is not invited to the 3pt contest, I will be pissed.

Hauser is the real splash brother. His high arcing shots, if going in, never ever touch the rim, nothing but net. It’s just enjoyable.

A message from a 3 year Australian Celtics fan to a Boston native who is skeptical of Joe Mazulla and our direction.

“Just finished rewatching the game and thinking back to an ime x mazulla conversation I had with a mate about why I prefer mazulla ball. Caution this is also a Derrick White fan post.

I have a unique perspective because my Celtic fandom spawned around the time The Buffalo became a Celtic. All I saw was this team who should’ve won the chip twice but missed their opportunities against both GSW and the Heat.

An an outside observer whose first thought about Derrick was what most people’s would’ve been which was around dudes hairline. However I watched those series’s and observed our flaws from fresh eyes and realised what most analytics also realised which was the more the buffalo roamed the better the team was. Dude rarely ever makes mistakes and as a ball handler he was what the system of the Jays, Horford, and rob needed with smart maybe as the two. He never really got that opportunity in those series’s he’s always been the underdog

Today the buffalo was out of sync and put up one of his worst games which is understandable if you’ve just had a kid. If you watch the first half the only reason NYKs had a chance is because Derrick white wasn’t hitting his shots.

The fact that the whole first half really centred around the ball being in Derrick whites hands is why I prefer Mazulla ball. We need a competent floor general and guard defender that doesn’t look for his shot but can get it when he wants (hence D white floater game besides from today when does he miss) and can alley or pick and roll with Al, Kornet or KP, can create his own shot and most importantly can play if you’ve been tracking stats the best and most efficient pick and roll with our #1 guy Jayson Tatum. Derrick fucking white is that guy.

The reason I like Mazulla over Ime is because he has more belief in #9s ability to roam. I have always seen that Derrick was much better on the court than either smart or brogdan. This is time and time backed up by the numbers. Even now in terms of efficiency Mr white is above Jrue.

You can’t tell me that the combination of white, holiday and Pritchard doesn’t shit on smart, brogdan and then last but not least Luh Buffalo.

Derrick white, tingus pingus and jrue holiday as secondary options to the Jays literally shits on every single front court and back court in the NBA. Brad stevens is a fucking genius and I will happily debate any take you have that any other team in the NBA has improved near the amount we have with changing our starting lineup to Luhbuffalo, Jrue, JB, JT and tingus pingus.

Nostalgia is real and I gotta be honest with that lineup and Al, hauser, new and improved PP coming of the bench + whatever other magic Brad gives us for the picks we have. How is this team not better than the 08’ Celtics and who give me the name of the team that can stop us if we’re healthy.”

A bit of positivity I sent to a negative comment

Brother I am a delusional Celtics fan but when I am down an out about the Celtics I avoid this place like a disease.

I think the overreactions on this sub are fucking crazy we’ve lost two games; one of which we took to OT and if we had the buffalo, if our 3pt % doesn’t suck, if a couple jump balls and offensive fouls aren’t called and if Ant hadn’t turned into prime MJ we win easily & another which is against Philly where white has a bad game (1st game back as a daddy) we shoot terribly and maxey goes wild yet we still had a chance till the end + including the fact we are missing someone like grant in our lineup.

I’m feeling confident about those loses and the fact that when we have played to our potential. Mind you that’s only the potential of a team that’s played limited games together and when weve played right we have absolutely embarrassed almost every other team. Now we have the chemistry that’s building + whatever Brad has to offer in terms of a Big.

Why would I overreact JB just got the biggest contract had a hard time in the ECF so he’s gonna be streaky, Al is getting older but amazing off the bench and D whites stepping into a huge role and just had a kid so he’s gonna have to adjust to being that guy playing the point on the most winningest franchise in NBA history once we get this chip over the lakers.

We may not have much room to work with next off-season in terms of money, especially if we use the TPE this off-season. However, there’s an interesting wrinkle we could exploit to add some depth to the team. Because Kornet signed a 3-year deal with us, we could theoretically sign him to an extension now. The raise we can give him is up to the NBA league average salary, which is 9.7mil.

Effectively, Kornet could be used as a 9.7mil TPE if we extend before the off-season. Of course, we also have his Bird Rights, so we could also make him part of a sign and trade, (stipulation being that we can only use half his salary for matching purposes meaning he’d have to make close to 20mil in order to reach that 9.7mil TPE mark).

Unfortunately, with the new rules, I don’t think we’d be able to aggregate salaries with him or take back additional salaries due to 2nd apron issues. However, a 9.7mil TPE could be useful for adding depth to the bench.

We probably have add extra draft assets to compensate the overpiced contract for Kornet if we just sign him to use as a TPE. I’d prefer to save our assets for future flexibility than use it this way.

Bulls might be starting their fire sale

We might be able to get Caruso for our 2024 first + 2nds + filler, (filler being PP + some end of bench guys)

I feel that Horford’s body condition is alright. He runs and jumps like he’s 5 years younger than his actual age. However, he can’t find his shooting back anymore. I noticed that he might change his release speed a little bit which might be the reason his shots not falling.

I’m withholding judgment for now. We’ve seen Horford do this before.

Here’s his 3P% for the first 10 games of 2021 vs the first 9 games of this season:

      2021-22 2023-24
0% from deep in 4 games. 0% from deep in 4 games.
16.7% from deep in 2 games. 16.7% from deep in 1 game.
28.6% from deep in 1 game. 25.0% in 1 game.
23.9% average over all 10 games. 23.1% average over all 9 games.

It’s almost a mirror performance. He just needs to go 1/6 (16.7%) in this next game.

People were talking about him being washed, but he turned out fine. As you’ve said, he’s still moving pretty well out there.
