Everyone keeps raving about this game. Im mostly an open world gamer, but Im not a fan of turn-based combat and never have been. Is there enough exploration and freedom in Balders Gate 3 to make up for the turn-based combat for someone uninterested in that style? Is it open world?

It’s still a little slow but it’s generally more exciting than most turn based games

    That said, still turned based

no you will probobly don’t like it. combat can be annoying if you dont want to spend time learning how to play the game. if you enter combat by mistake you can be wiped or heavily injured before you even have chance to move your character. its not always fair system. but people found ways to exploit it as well but you shouldnt be looking for ways to cheat.

Personally I think the hype was overblown.

First of all, if you do not like turned based games you will not find this any more enjoyable.

The story is good up to a certain point and then it falls flat as most critical would say.

If you are looking for open world games with action there’s plenty to choose from.

All of your ‘freedom’ comes from the turn based combat.

Turn based combat is infinitely more tactical and interesting than pure action, 99% of the time, and BG3 is a shining example of why.
