It’s football. Why should I care if they win ugly?
Other teams are trying to win too, likely more so when they’re playing the Steelers.
I look at it like they’re playing playoff football in November. Low scoring, grind it out, last second games that they are winning.
Expect it to get even uglier. It’s going to get cold. It’s going to get messy. Points are going to be even harder to come by. Best get the team used to it now.
This team has an identity. They’re a puncher. They’re not a bruiser. They’re not a pugilist. They’re a puncher. They can take a beating, stand there and take the punishment, and then they can land those couple blows that puts an opponent in the L category.
I’m totally fine with that being Pittsburgh Steelers Football. If I wanted to watch something graceful I can watch ballet or the Ice Capades (do they still exist) or something like that. An opera.
I’m certainly not going to whine about a win. I look at the standings in the AFC and when I hear this isn’t sustainable, I agree, it’s not sustainable, it’s achievable.
Who exactly is elite in the AFC? Every team is beatable. It’s as tough as I’ve ever seen the conference and division, but that also means nobody is running away with it.
…that’s not what playoff football looks like. We are averaging 17.3 PPG on offense currently, that is not playoff level football.
In the last 3 seasons here are the teams with 4 or more playoff games and their average PPG.
Bengals - 23.3 PPG; Chiefs - 32.7 PPG; Bills - 31.8 PPG; Rams - 26.8 PPG, Eagles - 29.8 PPG, and 49ers - 20.0 PPG. There is basically one team that is remotely close to us and that’s the 49ers. I hope I don’t have to explain why that’s not a good comp for us either or what it’s indicative of.
Lol this is such an unserious place for discussion sometimes
Crying and discussing aren’t the same things.
