I get changes are welcome and sometimes nice. However since playing dota1/dota 2 for 15+ years and taking breaks many years in between, I don’t feel the current meta is working for competitive dota.
It’s nice to have the extended map for neutrals, however it seems every game there is an over abundance of gold for supports. Overall the chess like strategy that I enjoyed doesn’t feel there anymore.
Many would agree this past TI was evident that Roshan was a non factor. No Roshan fights and it’s hard to respond and get there.
Going back for fun I rewatched the early TI’s and it was so much fun even playing around Roshan, the warding, timing, control and swing of a game for big combo ultimates and plays
Bring back Roshan to the middle of the map and make dota fun again.
The shards and neutral items have made hero’s competitive again. They also have to look into removing the tormentors and portals. Just a complete revamp of the map
Where roshan pits are now. Replace with portals. Which takes you to roshans prison. 100% equal for both teams and doesn’t favour dire or radiant depending on time.
Do you even know why they moved it there at first place and why didnt you address the issue in another way?
I wonder how good it would be if the Roshan cave was at the end of each river, the river that runs through the middle of the map. And instead of using portal, he charges through the river to change locations.
It has nothing to do with the actual change, it’s just that people at lower MMRs haven’t figured out the generally optimal ways to play current map. With the old map, at high MMRs, most people would more or less know how to play the macro game near optimally but be able execute things at different speeds. Now it’s actually more like chess with more creative decision making surrounding it. Old map was very stale for good players.
