Earlier in the season, I was very harsh on McCarthy and the way the offense looked. I referred to our offense as a “caveman offense” because everything was so basic. We saw a lot of quick slants, flats, etc. out of static formations like 2x2 out of 11 personnel. Most notably I remember us coming out in a trips set against the 49ers and we run… triple slants??? Running all of our players into an elite LB core?? Made no sense, and the flaws in our scheme got brutally exposed throughout that entire game. I thought our game against the Chargers looked iffy as well even though we won.

However, the adjustments we made over the bye week have been outstanding. We are finally utilizing motion a great deal (you can tell by just watching the games), and we are scheming players open. Lamb isn’t getting 150ypg by just beating the dude in front of him… we are actually creating mismatches from the motion we are using. Haters love to call Lamb a “slot merchant” (which is statistically inaccurate), but if it means gettig him on that slot corner and feeding him the ball then sign me up. We FINALLY got Cooks involved and our passing game is as explosive as it’s ever been. Dak has been playing the best football of his career these past few weeks, and is creeping into that dark horse MVP conversation.

That being said, Mike McCarthy should get more credit for this. Obviously he realized that whatever he was doing the first 7 weeks of the season wasn’t going to be effective in the long run, so he adjusted. The scheme looks a lot better but not only that, his play-calling has drastically improved the past few weeks. Not forcing the run and riding the hot hand in the offense (Dak and Lamb) has been doing wonders for us.

I know I gave him a lot of shit before, but from what I see he has really turned things around.

I feel like he should get credit on Daks redemption arc but you have to realize with Dak being horrible last season Cowboys still had arguably the best offense in the league they led in most statistical categories but i too will eat my own words I was Fire McCarthy and bench Dak but they proved me wrong

Yes, congrats on finally realizing the way to win is to throw the ball to CD. Myself, and many others, were only yelling this the whole time the first 5 games of the season. Anyways, better late than never haha

Vs the good team we still only scored 23 points, let’s see how it goes vs the other good ones

Atleast he has stopped force feeding all that short pass garbage with one of the best deep ball QBs in the league

He’s doing better for sure but the redzone troubles are still there. We need to get that figured out with the personnel we got.

Our team is a roller coaster. I was also pissed about how bad Dak and MM was after that shit Cardinals. Talk about beyond frustrating after beating down the Jets and Giants. SF I was really pissed about. God I fucking hate the 9ers almost as much as the Eagles.
