I am fan of the the comics and would like to dive into another superhero run that has the struggles of character growth and comes with a definite ending unlike any of the majority of the ongoing DC/Marvel century old never ending series.
Would be preferable if our protagonist starts out young, but even an older superhero would do. A focus on battles with realistic power scaling like the one in Invincible where the characters have fixed levels but also grow stronger with more training/experience would be great.
Spider-Man: Life Story and the og Ultimate Spider-Man are both are retellings of Spider-Man mythos with a beginning and end.
But, my #1 recommendation is Radiant Black. It’s also by Image and is currently ongoing, but will operate like Invincible with a solid ending and has cool power progression. Can’t recommend it enough
I loved the first 40 or so issues of Ultimate Spider-man. Imo, it went downhill and that dip in quality lasted until their version of clone saga and extended to the needless retcons and sudden character dynamic changes. But the ending was solid.
Thanks for recommending Life Story and Radiant Black. Will give them a try.
Hey, I just read Life Story. Thanks for recommending it. It was beautiful but short. Amazing experience to get through.
But out of left field and a bit dated but Zenith is vaguely similar - even right down to the blue and yellow
