0 through balls. You really have to wonder what the instructions are, because how do you end up with that unless you’re trying to.
I think that stat captures how we feel he’s not punching the ball through enough and instead is going back or around all the time.
We play against a low block nearly every game. How many opportunities for through balls do you think there are?
Just for reference, everybody: last year, Xhaka managed 0.18 throughballs per 90, and 0.18 switches per 90. Xhaka is obviously a lot more skilled at that kind of thing, but mostly, that stuff is just the role + deeper blocks.
Think this one shows a clearer picture.
Haha. Was wondering why they’d use this template, but just saw the original post (it’s from a Chelsea fan): “There is a bunch of reasons why this is sort of unfair, but that doesn’t make it less funny.”
It’s the pace he plays at and he doesn’t scan the field enough before receiving the ball. In the Premier League you do not get time and space on the ball, you have to know what you’re going to do next, Havertz is always reacting and never dictating. I don’t know whether this is a confidence issue or simply something he can’t do but it’s not looking good. We’re 3 months in and while he does offer some positives, he doesn’t raise the ceiling of the team, he often looks like he avoids the ball and is only comfortable away from it. It’s like he’s afraid to make mistakes because every mistake he makes is critcised heavily, which only leads to more criticism anyway.
0 through balls is grim mate.
65m man…
Do not understand why we bought him after he’s proved he’s not great for already 3 years.
Here’s hoping it somehow clicks. But yeah…
Man doesn’t have conviction or take risks which really sucks for us.
Someone gonna say Odegaard needed time to adjust too like he wasn’t doing this from day 1
Lets not forget it took Xhaka a bit of time to adapt to his new role under Arteta. Give him time. It’s been 12 games. 711 minutes of premier league football. I can guarantee you, Havertz has NEVER played under a manager/system like Arteta’s before. THIS WILL TAKE TIME.
We should probably give Declan a big bonus at the end of the season
We took him from Soucek to Soucek
Still laughing at people in here who eat up whatever Arteta is saying after every game praising him as one of our best players. He’s defending him for the press and the fans, don’t be naive. He has been extremely mediocre except for one or two games. If his name and transfer value was Lokonga, he wouldn’t see 1/3rd of the playing time and would be shipped in January.
I was actually hyped by this transfer, was looking forward to it and have nothing against the guy. But sometimes Edu and Arteta make mistakes and this one looks like a huge one. You just have to watch the matches and see these stats to understand that he’s just another body on the pitch that pretty much contributes nothing. In fact you’d be hard pressed to find another player in the squad who’d contribute less in that position.
Havertz joined a disfunctional Chelsea team that just replaced Sarri with Lampard. When they finally had the good sense to replace Lampard with Tuchel so they can actually win something, they shit themselves up by firing Tuchel and replacing him with poor Potter. They soon regretted and turned to Lampard II: Electric Boogaloo. This was just in like 2 or 3 years. Havertz saw some shit. He needs psychotherapy
jesus christ this dude is afraid to play football
He’s a false 8
Liar Havertz.
like i said we need to beam his leverkusen highlights into his brain while he sleeps.
he is sorta moving forward when he receives the ball on the turn now, but not enough. I don’t believe he’s lost all mobility with that growth spurt.
Needs to keep asking for the ball and play unshackled
Like playing with 10 men
Ramsdale dropped but this guy starts every week. Embarrassing.
Some people here defend this every week.
