I do not like his fit with this team & how things are currently constructed. Even analysts and fans of other teams have commented on how bad Zu has been this season. Do you guys have any ideas on what possible upgrades or better fitting centers we could get later in the year? I heard some people saying Daniel Gafford. I just want a center who, if not a floor spacer, will at least do the dirty work and hustle on every play. The rim protection is severely lacking.

I also think that defensive rebounding is a massive struggle right now. Gave the grizz so many 2nd opportunities last game in the fourth that allowed than to resist the late run we did

Zu made great progress every season since we got him but there has always been this problem with him that he’s there just to take some time off and wait to be benched for crunch time

It’s hard to wrap your head around him because he is a legit 12ppg/11ast player but then whenever we play teams that actually put pressure on us he’s useless - or at least he’s put in positions where he’s useless

Luka cooks him, Jokic cooks him, he can’t really fight with Bam, Embiid, Porzingis you name it

We have starting center who on paper looks like one of the best centers in the league but once you actually put him against the big names he becomes so small it’s better for Ty Lue to play PJ Tucker or Nico Batum in the past

Idk man… I like Zubac a lot and I’m not sure there’s a market for us to get someone better but there’s just something off with his fit on this team

Imagine this team with a center who’s actually a serious lob threat and an offensive rebound machine because of his athleticism…
Meanwhile Zu is just a very solid 5th option to start the game (not as solid as a closer tho)

You guys pissing on Zubac on a team with a 38 year old washed PJ Tucker and a rookie PF crack me up. Save some of your water for Lawrence Frank and this F’d up roster.

i’ll tell you right now. that lineup with a stretch 5 will win the chip. as long as that stretch 5 isn’t PJ tucker.

we can sacrifice defense if we have a 5-out offense — literally everyone will be able to get a layup or pass it out to the open man. imagine russ going downhill surrounded by kawhi pg harden and another 3pt threat. and all the screen and roll actions. it’s the best offense in the league.

PJ was that guy on the rockets, but sadly I don’t think he can be the 5 for a championship team anymore. maybe I’m wrong. he sacrifices too much on the defensive end and doesn’t make up for it on offense.

if we can’t get a stretch 5 we ideally want an elite rim protector to make up for our backcourt defense. zubac can’t shoot and his interior defense isn’t great, so he doesn’t really check any of the boxes

You mean “The Ty Dilemma” right?

    “The FO Dilemma”?

You can’t possibly be considering to trade the most consistent part of the Clippers organization for about 5 years just so that you can satisfy Ty’s PunyBall wet dream for about half the season right?

That can’t possibly be what you’re saying here because I know you can’t possibly be that narrow-minded. Right?

You are contemplating trading someone that will be finally be coached right next year after Ty is gone for the sake of pleasing a one year temporary circus? Right? Right?
