Apparently, they offered 2024, 2025 firsts and a second rounder. Here’s what I think:

  1. We keep C Mac. It was widely known that we wanted to trade him to load up to move up for a QB if we didn’t find ourselves in a position to draft one. I think with so much future draft capital, we keep him here.

  2. We keep DJ Moore. I know Poles wanted DJ in the trade, but I think we give up 2023 1st, Both 2024 firsts, 2023 2nd and the Rams 2nd to move up.

So that leaves us with C Mac, DJ Moore and 2 2025 first round picks and a 2nd round pick back that we lost for 2025, and we lose Burns and Mingo (traded the pick). Bryce has a decent arsenal of weapons around him to assist in his development. We have 0 pass rush, but we address that in free agency next year or with our 1st rounders in 2025. Yes, our defense would be awful, but it’s not like they’re helping us much this year anyway.

Thoughts?

Over the past year and a half, I have heard more reports about what we’ve offered/been offered in potential trades than any other team I can remember. The only way that is possible is if someone in the org is leaking is this shit. The more that time goes by the more I doubt that the Rams offer for Burns was a real, formal trade offer. I don’t know. Seems out of pocket for the edge rusher market. Brad Chubb was also traded at the time and went for a single first and Chase Edmonds. You’re telling me some team thinks Brian Burns is twice as valuable?

Hard to believe that you would turn down that trade package for a pass rush specialist who doesn’t get strip sacks near as much as he needs to to make up for his lack of ability in the run game.
