I know it’s a team game, and everyone has to buy in for it to work, so please know I’m not ignoring the whole team’s effort. But the one guy I wanted to see this from the most was KAT, because his talent and potential is unquestioned. It was the focus, off-season work, and consistency that I doubted. He seemed soft and at times lazy.
This season though? Holy shit. He’s transformed. His fundamentals are on point. His effort is there. He’s stronger. He’s faster. He’s moving laterally like Scottie fucking Pippin. He’s keeping his arms straight up. He’s driving to the rim like LeBron James. He’s rebounding like David Robinson. He’s dishing like Magic. He’s doing it for the team’s success, and he’s keeping his head in the game.
I am so proud of KAT this season. I hope he keeps it up, because it could be the difference between an early playoff exit and competing for a championship.
I’m firmly back aboard the KAT train, baby. Woo woo!
This is such a fickle place. You’re completely right on this topic, and being downvoted as usual. Consistency is the problem and the solution for KAT.
When KAT does good, he must be praised, otherwise you’re just a hater. Some days it feels like rationally looking at how KAT contributes, impacts, elevates, and occasionally drags the team down with him is like yelling into a wind tunnel. Even so much as implying negativity about KAT will get you dragged.
