I sail the seas right now but my laptop can’t cast to my TV/XBOX

I’d like to watch the games on my TV, stream it from my console as opposed to a tiny laptop. What’s the best way to do this without buying some BS cable package?

This is my first apartment, in the past at my parents house I’ve had cable. Just wondering how other cord cutters are doing it.
