As said in the title please keep it civil and not be mean to anyone. I had a friend, who is a titans fan, bring up to me when we were talking about football a few weeks ago. Do you think that the offensive struggles are all Matt Canada’s play calling, or is it Kenny’s. He said “is the play calling simple because Canada is a bad play caller or because he has to dumb it down for kenny” that made me think as I’m not a fan of either Canada or Kenny. I knew that the Steelers were going to pick him I just think he isn’t a good QB in the nfl.
Kenny ran a better NFL offense in college than he runs now.
It’s not Kenny.
It’s also a front office problem. They haven’t hit on an O-Lineman between DeCastro in 2012 and BroJo in 2023.
No offense works without time.
Canada hasn’t been calling easy throws over the middle, party because Kenny hasn’t been going through his progressions, which makes crossing routes dangerous for turnovers. But the offensive line hasn’t been giving him much time, either, so he’s asked to throw short until they need to go downfield in the 4th.
Seems he’s being coached to not take risks for a variety of factors. That said, Canada hasn’t called a great game yet in his 3 years in charge of the offense
It’s both, but this sudden love for sideline Canada is maddening. The Packers and Titans are really bad teams and we still didn’t put up amazing offensive performances.
Have you not been paying attention in this sub? Kinda a redundant topic
It seems to be a combination of multiple things. Canada not understand situational football (running into the teeth of the D on 2nd & 15, calling routs well short of the sticks on 3rd & long, throwing screens to the slowest guy on the offense etc…)
Poor blocking design on the OL & a system that doesn’t mesh with the offense play calling, weak links on the OL not being replaced for way too long, even though it’s obvious there’s a better player sitting on the bench, and formerly good players just playing like crap in our system.
Pickett being extremely inconsistent, missing wide open receivers, not seeing open receivers multiple times a game, and having happy feet because of a second season of a bad OL.
The offense has looked a little better with “sideline Canada”, but the issues of calling bizarre plays in seemingly the wrong situations, and lack of flow of play calling were still there.
It’s both. And probably some other things…although putting Jones in at least appears to have run blocking improving.
Canada’s offensive system appears to be simplistic and predictable.
Kenny often has trouble finding open guys and then throwing it to them accurately when he finds them.
We’ll know more next season. Because Canada is almost certainly gone. And Kenny will almost certainly still be here.
