Hello fellow suffering football fans,
Joe Brady was just named interim OC for my Bills. Just curious on your thoughts on him from his time as Panthers OC?
He’s really good at only putting 11 men on the field…maybe look at the DC instead?
I’m actually interested in seeing how he does under McDermott who is a HOF coach compare to Rhule. That said he wasn’t very good here. Very predictable playcaller (run, run, pass) BUT that was also supposedly very much a Rhule game thing. He tried to work with what we had but we didn’t have a lot. Allen is definitely the most dynamic QB he will have worked with in the pros.
He was awful at the time. We ended up with the wrong Joe from LSU. They didn’t practice any redzone situations throughout the year. The nice thing was that at all times the outside receivers were going verticle, but we didn’t have a good tightend to compliment. We did have Christian so when he was on the field we won, unfortunately both of those years he lasted the first 3-6 games and then was injured.
We were his first OC job ever, and it showed.
There’s no way he’s the exact same OC now as he was back then, tho.
I don’t think you’ll get fair answers here tbh. He was brought into a pretty shitty situation. Our offensive roster was not in a good place (especially at QB) and the team culture was suspect with Rhule. It seemed like he had good ideas, but didn’t have the personnel to carry it out. The Bills offense will give him way more opportunity to be creative and show if he’s worth the reputation he earned at LSU.
Hard to tell…but now that he’s out from under Rhule he’ll must likely end up being the best OC in the league and the hottest HC candidate next year.
He was, statistically, the best OC we’ve had in the Tepper Era which is wild to think about
He was promoted too fast, and then scapegoated by a snake oil salesman.
He’s sharp though, and will no doubt be better prepared for his second crack at the gig.
