It’s always bothered me and infuriated me that Mercy doesn’t have the option to cancel her rez ability. It’s an ability that traps you with no option to do anything except for be a sitting duck for a moment. Sure, you can cancel it if you’re far enough away to back up from it, but that’s usually not the case. Also that isn’t instant because you need to slowly crawl away. I just don’t see any reason not to add this as a QOL change for Mercy.

“But it’s high risk high reward” So are many other abilities in the game, even ultimates which take a lot more effort to build than waiting on a cool down (deadeye for example). Yet many of those have the ability to cancel.

“It forces the Mercy to think twice about rezzing” …to an extent. Again, this could apply to literally any other hero that can cancel their abilities. Why don’t other heroes have to think twice? Also, sometimes situations just don’t get to be that straight forward. One split second you’re fine, then someone flanks up on you for example, and you can’t cancel the ability so you just watch them kill you. It’s stupid.

“What if they accidentally press cancel” Someone once tried to use this as a genuine counterpoint. I thought that was funny. But obviously not even close to a good enough reason not to add it. Like everything else, that applies to every other hero… lol

“You’re bringing someone back so it should be easily punishable” I can get that to an extent, but I’d say the same logic applies to other heroes as well, except that they are just eliminating one person, or more. Why not just remove everyone’s ability to cancel their actions so that everyone in the game will be easily punishable for everything they choose to use for their advantage? It’s not fair.
