You guys have the best away game experience and it’s not close. The fans were all so polite and consistently offered to buy me drinks and gave awesome recommendations (Jucy Lucy at Matt’s will change your life). The Skol chant is one of the most intense chants I’ve seen.

Fully expected the worst after seeing how many Vikings fans on social media hate the Saints but Minnesota is legit and I couldn’t have had a better weekend and can’t wait to visit again!

I am a rare Vikings fan who doesn’t hate the saints. My opinion comes from the experience I had at the 2009 NFCG. Three of us went down for two days and wore purple the whole time. We stayed just of the Quarter.

We could not have been more warmly received by folks. In the stadium and outside the stadium, people were actually happy we were there. And they showed it… buying drinks, getting a dinner check!, coming up to us to say “thanks”. At the game, we sat by an extended family of season ticket holders who acted as our guardians and were pumped that “this is such a great game.”

In the end, the Vikings should have won. But I was happy for the saints to win the Super Bowl. The people of New Orleans are some of the hospitable in the country and with Katrina and government mismanagement had seen the raw end of American dispassion. However, they stayed their warm and charming selves. For that, they deserved an epic celebration.
