I’m betting Finch gets fired during the season. Lots of people focusing on the offensive struggles but Toronto has the roster to be a top 5 defensive team (12th last year) so the Wolves not shooting well shouldn’t be a huge surprise. The vibes though were definitely still off. This team has persistently bad vibes as evidenced by the end of the last regular season (vibe maintenance is a key part of the job of NBA coach) and routinely fails to look like they are more than the sum of their parts (the other key component of a head coaches job). I don’t doubt he’s a great tactician however this group needs a ‘leader of men’ type as opposed to just an X’s and O’s coach.

I gotta stop following my favorite teams subs. One game in and these are the posts. It’s even worse on the Vikings sub. I’m over it

The fact that the team looks exactly the same isn’t a great sign.

On some things yes - transition D woes, hero ball. But the team last year did not have a Rudy and KAT being spry on defense getting 4 blocks or outrebounding the other team 73-56. That’s not the exact same team, some things yes, but other things have improved. Everything won’t change right away, let’s see how they build on this.

GM Survey: 13% said Finch runs the best offense. 4th in the poll. Right behind Malone. But ok. GM Survey

there was way less structure on offense than was promised so its fair to come at Finch for that but that loss was more on Ant and KAT and their continued lack of bball iq. no coach can bring that out its on them
