Shout out again to u/Kingding_Aling for the original concept for these stats see here (yes I do intend to keep referencing you as the original author of the concept).

Like I mentioned last week, I wanted to try to attribute the uncatchable rates back to the QB. In the end, I resigned to highlighting the QB for the WR and indicating an accuracy % (I think it needs a better name, so I am still open to suggestions). An individual sheet for week 10 is also available to isolate from the current season stats given the amount of new QBs playing this season.

So keep these in mind with these sheets:

  • Source data is based on Fantasy Pros determination of a catchable pass.
  • The accuracy % is based on the formula of (the team’s total catchable targets) / (the teams total targets).
  • The Season sheet looks at a minimum of 50 targets. I make the assumption that any WR that we care about can demand at least 5 targets a game after 10 weeks of the season.
  • The Week 10 sheet looks at a minimum of 3 targets.
  • The filters on the sheet should be editable so you can choose your own requirement if you think mine are wrong. I had issues viewing from my mobile device so you may want to view from a desktop.

I’m only going to highlight the season stats in the table but I’ll mention both stats in the takeaways:

Season So Far Worst Catchable Rates

Name Team Targets Uncatch Uncatch % QB Accuracy %
George Pickens PIT 62 27 43.5 Kenny Pickett 40.1
Romeo Doubs GB 59 25 42.2 Jordan Love 57.7
Marquise Brown ARI 81 34 42.0 Kyler Murray* 61.6*
Deandre Hopkins TEN 72 30 41.7 Will Levis 43.0
DK Metcalf SEA 62 25 40.3 Geno Smith 41.1

*Some of these numbers obviously belongs to another starting QB for the season.

Season So Far Best Catchable Rates

Name Team Targets Uncatch Uncatch % QB Accuracy %
Adam Thielen CAR 86 14 16.3 Bryce Young 47.5
CeeDee Lamb DAL 86 17 19.8 Dak Prescott 67.2
Keenan Allen LAC 97 20 20.6 Justin Herbert 56.0
Tyreek Hill MIA 97 20 20.6 Tua Tagovailoa 56.4
Amon-Ra St. Brown DET 87 18 20.7 Jared Goff 67.5

Now for some takeaways:

  • First and foremost Kyler’s week 10 targets that were tracked in the sheet amounted to 44%. Both Brown and Wilson both had 50% of their passes deemed uncatchable while Moore had a 37.5% of his passes deemed uncatchable.
  • On a side note, Brown had an uncatchable rate of 50% in both weeks (9 and 10). Hopefully Kyler can work off the rust.
  • While Pickens still leads this list for the season, only 25% of his targets (1/4) were deemed uncatchable in week 10. Doubs is catching him up.
  • Speaking on Doubs, Love has been relatively thrash for the season but I was surprised to find Jayden Reed and Dontayvion Wicks with 0 uncatchable balls in week 10. Doubs and Watson were at 40 and 57.1% respectively.
  • More on Love, only 1 WR meets the target criteria which is Doubs. Reed appears as the receiver with the 2nd highest targets at 45 but while Doubs has an uncatchable rate of 42.4, Reed has an uncatchable rate of 33.3%.
  • Now less Love related, I find the NO WRs interesting. Rasheed just made the 50 target mark (41 last week). Now do note that Jameis targets are in here but Olave, Shaheed and Thomas all have uncatchable rates of 38.3, 38.0 and 34.4% respectively.
  • The Geno experiment continues. DK hit the top 5 list this week, taking Garrett Wilson’s spot. Meanwhile, Lockett, Bobo and JSN all have uncatchable rates for the season of less than 30% (28.4, 20.0 and 18.8% respectively). I really think Metcalf’s numbers relates not only to Geno’s struggles but the types of routes that he is running this season.

A bit later in the day than I liked but I had a bunch of meetings earlier. Anyway I leave you all with the spreadsheet. I also adjusted the permissions so you should have better access to the sheet now.
