I’ve launched projects, I’ve failed projects, I’ve watched others. And I always wanted to make some sort of systematization of the rules in order to be able to roughly estimate the path in terms of design and development from the very beginning.
I came to this (yes, through my own mistakes, maybe I should have read smart books):
- Can you make an MVP quickly and cheaply?
You need this to test an idea right away. Sometimes, you don’t even need to do market analysis and spend months on it if you can spend a week on a prototype and gather feedback - How will you market it?
A good product without distribution is a dead product - Aren’t you following the crowd?
It’s probably personal here, but I don’t like to get in on trends to “make a quick buck”. It’s not my thing. Plus, there’s too much competition out there - Are you doing something new?
Another crypto, another uber, etc. is cool for a pet project or if you decide to capture the local market. But for a global project it’s “too late” already
This may sound like a truism, but when I started I didn’t think about it. I just wanted to do something. If you add more points it will be cool, so people don’t make the same mistakes over and over again. =)
Have a great day!
