The one that comes to mind for me is Sigrun from God of War 2018. So close so many times, probably 80-100 deaths. Even on lower difficulties she’s a lm absolute beast.

First playthrough Armored core 6, Balteus. The difficulty jump just catches you completely off guard, the other times you gave him after in 2nd and 3rd playthroughs he becomes a breeze.

Morgana in Mageseeker. I died SO MANY TIMES that I lost track. I got so fed up that I decided to turn enemy damage down just to give myself more margin for error.

Great Grey Wolf Sif in Dark Souls 1.

I didn’t know he wasn’t meant to be beaten at the start of the game, so I basically tried to kill him at level 15-20 I think.

Took me forever. Let’s just say I felt dumb when waaaay later down the line the game tells me “go kill Sif now”. But the benefit of all this is that I practiacally first tried everything afterwards. I was a BEAST !!

O&S took me a solid 2 weeks to beat, but it was the greatest high I felt in any video game ever. Nothing came close to that feeling til this day.

To this day I am still yet to get through the monster hunter character creation. That boss is just too strong.

Yea Sigmund was a pain. Over 1000 runs on her I only beat her cause of an exploit (I died when she was one hit but my revive stone aoe killed her so not even a legit kill if you ask me)
