Scenario 1: Eberflus is retained as HC but fires entire O-Staff, meaning he needs to bring in a new OC and DC. Who you bringing in for both positions?
Scenario 2: Eberflus and the entire coaching staff is fired. Who are you bringing in as HC, OC, and DC?
We’re in the back half of the regular season. Should be starting to get a decent idea of who might be available and who might be desirable. Curious who people would take in either scenario. I’m not savvy to who might be available to offer up my choices.
In general I want an offense that is lead by someone who’s actually from the McVay/Shanahan/McDaniel tree. Meaning they have experience calling plays and coordinating in those offenses. On Defense if they keep Flus, they’ll need someone who can come in and Coordinate his style Defense. I don’t know how many people are left in the league who can do that. Maybe promote Jon Hoke?
If they fire Flus, I want a HC under 50 years old, in more of a CEO role. The new DC should bring a modern 4-2 scheme with matching coverages. And not be afraid to Blitz and get creative with pressures.
Scenario 2: Hire Shane Waldron. I don’t care who he hired as OC as he’ll be the one actually running the offense. I can’t say I know enough about potential DC picks. I’d just like Shane
I’m just saying is it’s not that deep when you look at production vs assets. Look at Houston and Indy as an example how they have shaped their Offense around their stars. Both are looking like they’ve had a ton of growth from last year. As of now we have as many wins as we did last year and would be lucky to squeeze out another. Are we really going to rely on these current coaches to build? The hype was real before the season started, we could be looking like Houston but we don’t… we have a pretty solid roster and the lousy coaching isn’t helping them grow
I want Harbaugh, I’ll trust him with OC and DC choice. Second choice would be Ben Johnson to be HC.
