We are 4-0 in IST games and 0-4 in the games afterwards. A person who looks at the glass half empty may say we are wildly inconsistent. A person who looks at the glass half full may say we are winning the important ones. Both can be true. At the end of the day, we are a rebuilding team with a young core that has a lot of promise and potential. Not without our bad habits, but let’s trust our coaching staff to identify and develop better habits for our young guys.
Let the boys play. There will be games they look phenomenal and games they look off base. This is all part of the journey of developing a young core. As long as they continue to play with effort and review the tapes to find ways to improve, then that is more than good enough. Realistically the rebuild will take several years and we just started the second year.
Our boys came off a monster 4th quarter against the Pistons to remain undefeated (4-0) in the mid season tournament. We played a bad game tonight. We were unfocused and the turnovers and % of shot makes prove that. In order for us to be great we need to be consistent. Tough loss tonight but I trust our boys to learn from this and be better for next time.
What would you want in return? Buddy’s skillset and personality seems to mesh well with the team and can be a positive contribution in the looker room for years to come.
Ok. When I look back at your comment the main point I read is that the team is developing a pattern of losing focus and playing down to their completion. Correct? If so, then my comment about whichever perspective you hold is true. Whether you view this team as a young team that is promising yet far from perfect and is learning to play together a new brand of basketball under Carlisle’s system OR you can view it as a wildly inconsistent team. The choice is yours. Neither is wrong
