I used to use it 20 years ago. It’s not worth it.

In fact, benchmarks showed it was ultimately slower than some other distro’s at the time (and far less productive).

I used it because I thought I’d optimise it specifically for my system. Turns out, there are more important factors than recompiling for your CPU

  • Good.

Unfortunately, Trumpers will claim this is political prosecution or whatever though, or as per normal, find some made-up reason why the opposing side should have been disqualified (which will silently be forgotten as they find a new one).

I’m not in the US, but we also have a lot of dodgy rich people who need to get busted here in Australia too, so it needs to be normalised. I used to do installs in high end homes, and there are a lot of rich people who everyone in the industry recognises as dodgy, but simply haven’t been prosecuted.

Unrelated, all of their anti-trans BS and such is spilling over here in Australia, so we REALLY need to stop normalizing nonsense like that. It’s crazy how the US Republican party has managed to revitalize the anti-vax movement (leading to lots of deaths) and bigotry again.

  • I can’t speak for that.

    But sure…

    • The rapist who is VERY clear about wanting to be a dictator, is EXACTLY the same as the other guy.
    • The rapist with over 30500 known public lies in 4 years… Yeah… Definitely the same.
    • The guy who loves other dictators who support genocides? Obviously the same
    • Oh, yeah, lets not forget about the guy who killed hundreds of thousands of american’s, and even more worldwide through misinformation during covid. Here in Australia, there are STILL people who were influenced by people like him.
    • Also, I forgot about the guy who tried to overthrow the election (and it was obvious leading up to it)
    • Lets also not forget about the guy who when found guilty in court is considered so mafia-esque, that the judge told jurors that he STRONGLY recommended people didn’t disclose they were on the jury
    • This “businessman” cycles through more lawyers than a supreme court, and his own lawyers say they can’t control him.
    • The guy who likely compromised the security of millions of US, Australian and other soldiers by taking classified documents for his own benefit

Joe Biden? When his son was found guilty, he let justice take course.

It would be good to see Michelle Obama stand though instead of him, but, Trump is VERY dangerous. He was willing to start a civil war to get back power, and the only reason he hasn’t gotten into any wars, is because he is likely giving other dictators everything they want (including top secret information)

The only reason we know 100% that he is giving away top secret information, is because of audio recordings, and a billionaire in Australia said directly that was the case.

Joe Biden has done none of that stuff. The judge didn’t need to warn jurors on his son’s trial that they could be targeted if they diclosed they were on it

  • It will actually have a huge impact on noise imho. I live near a intersection between 2 freeways, and lots of REALLY loud cars out there due to stupidly sized engines, or modified mufflers… The majority of the noise isn’t the movement of the car imho.

Also, it does have an impact on the climate too (it’s been researched multiple times, and even with current tech, the overall emissions are substantially lower). Obviously Public Transport and Bicycles and such is better, but this is still a huge step in the right direction.

In fact, if technologies like Lithium-Air are developed, it will have an even bigger impact (because you can effectively reduce the battery weight 15x with the same range). Because you can also reduce the size of the car too, and the weight, you increase the efficiency further too. Sodium ion batteries being released this year already have an impact.

  • Actually, looking through it again, and its even more hilarious when I take a second look.

Another good example “Wayland is biased toward Linux and breaks BSD”. The reference is from the NetBSD blog. The Netbsd marketshare is huge, so it’s really important everyone holds back for them. The funny thing is that even gnome is missing features on NetBSD: https://wiki.netbsd.org/GNOME/ . So, should Wayland fix their OS for them?

To be clear for 90% of that whole link you’ve posted, it isn’t the Wayland Development teams responsibility to pick up slack on other projects. It sucks that they won’t be there for the beginning of the transition, but, if we transition earlier, they’ll prioritise getting their crap together
