He is a great support unless it is dual melee vs dual ranged. Try CK pos5. Its brutal.

Back when I started (not counting WC3 mod) Dota had a limited mode you had to play prior to playing the full game. This limited mode had (iirc) 24 heroes. I liked Drow, as she has a straight-forward kit with lots of damage and decent ability to farm without regen.

I miss this mode, as you would not fight against Pudge or other complex 3 heroes. It was probably too difficult to balance so its gone now, but sticking to complex 1 and asking your brother whether he wants to save allies or save himself (support v core) and picking heroes that prefer to avoid the teamfight would be my advice.

Heroes that avoid teamfight and support are global heroes like Silencer, Zues, Treant protector, Tinker

Heroes that avoid the teamfight and core are Natures Prophet, Illusion cores, Lycan, Lone Druid, Faceless void.

And just to clarify, you cannot avoid all fights, but you can learn a lot by playing heroes that prefer to fight like these, from the shadows or by pushing the enemy base instead. It lets him see what an engaged fight is, and he has the option to contribute without the danger of feeding or losing.

I played CK support to a sniper. It was broken. Zoned out a timber and leshrac. He just eats lesh like candy, and timber has a hard time against the early crit.

I remember stealing this on rubick and being granted vision from a spell is huge in Dota.

• Clearing highround vision with a gem - instead of using/waiting for the cooldown I can just cast.
• Securing a kill in difficult situations such as: enemy has lotus/linkins, enemy is currently invisible
• Clearing creep camps

It can be quite clutch imo, you and your ally reflecting a spell.

Just consider grimstroke - he links you to an ally. Except you buff your ally and yourself so the next stgt spell hits the enemy. This could be devastating.

Now look at IO/batrider/other shards and yea, at least AM’s shard has a use.
