I would agree with this. The content/story/messaging comes first, design comes second, and should add value, not distract from the content. So what is it worth to work with someone who can build compelling content? I’ve witnessed many technical founders who really struggle to translate their highly technical innovations into relatable and convincing terms in pitch decks and pitches.

Why wouldn’t you? Your time is probably a lot better spent building other aspects of your startup. Also, most people aren’t great at storytelling or design. Same reason why the resume writing industry is so huge… people generally suck at writing their own resumes and are far better off hiring a domain expert to help as it can greatly increase their chances of finding a better job faster. It’s an investment rather than an expense.
