As someone who loves Jackfruit, i think the actual fruit bulb of one is much too sweet for a pizza topping.

What you are talking about is actually a byproduct of the fruit which is called the rags. Which can be cooked and eaten, as well as the seeds. Although in my opinion the seeds are much tastier than the rags, just boil them till soft. get yourself a fresh jackfruit and try it.

I think it’s great that we can find ways to eat more parts of the jackfruit, but the fact that most Americans think that jackfruit is just the rags and not the actual fruit means that they never had a fresh one and instead fell for a marketing ploy.

Use whatever you want for personal. But I would suggest trying to use containers for hosting if you haven’t already. It really blows the idea of needing a stable OS out of the water since you can just declare everything you want in a config file and tear down and spin up with the app you need ready in less than a minute.

You can use Ubuntu still of course in a container. But things get really interesting when you use smaller attack surface distros like Alpine, BusyBox, or even a distroless container.

Changelogs are published to stakeholders. So what I’m saying is you don’t have to try to enforce a commit style using got hooks if you have public shaming at your disposal.

Because if you are creating a changelog automatically based on the commit messages it will be very public and that user will look bad.

I’ve been running Manjaro for about 6 years. I’ve only had self induced issues.

• I restarted during a GPU driver update
• I only used pacman to do system updates and it kept failing. I needed to use pamac for those round of updates instead.

Arch is a better OS in that you have more control of exactly what it will do. But Manjaro also provides a great experience out of the box with all the major DEs. It really comes down to how much convenience are you willing to trade for control.

For what it’s worth, I’ve only noticed the slower Manjaro repo helping me once when steam fonts broke on the arch repo. So I basically had a warning and was able to switch to the beta version of the steam client to avoid that issue. So the slower Manjaro repo is not a selling point IMO, but the DE tweaks and configurations are.

Why is the land in dispute? Before oil was found, who owned it?

I do find it funny however that awk is lumped together with these small use case tools like sed, grep, tr, cut, and rev, since awk can be used to replace all of these tools and is it’s own language.

I don’t think the emphasis should be on simplicity, but rather on understandability (which long awk commands are not either).

If you give someone a bash script, they should be able to know exactly what the code will do when they read the script without having to run it or cat out the source it might need to parse. Using ubiquitous tools that many people understand is a good step.

Sadly awk is installed by default in most distros and tools like jq and jc would require installation.

If you like xfce, I think that kde is more similar to it than gnome. So I would recommend giving kde a try too.

An easy way to test out both is to just use a live image booted from a USB. You could always install them to your everyday PC but then you have a lot more packages installed and I personally would rather keep my installed packages to a minimum. If you can’t do a live cd because your os doesn’t provide one then I would try a vm or a different drive that you can boot into.

Arch, NixOS and openSUSE Tumbleweed are very supported.

I would recommend an Arch based distro if you want to keep it simple. That will give you access to the AUR and compatibility with the arch wiki.

PS: Arch can be very stable, especially if you use an LTS kernel and don’t restart during updates.
