Hey Fred, welcome to this crazy little slice of Reddit we call home during the season. Looking forward to the podcast.
My question pertains to Mitchell Robinson. He has always been a force defensively, but this year he seems to have stepped up to become a presence that leads by example for this team on both sides of the floor. Increasing his offensive rebounding, steals, blocking inbounds, fighting for extra possessions, hustling extra hard.
Is he somebody that the team and coach Thibs looks to as sort of the core identity of what this team wants to be now more than ever? And if so was that something he or the team has communicated that responsibility to directly or has it come naturally?
How quickly people forget the trajectory of this little guy named Giannis Antetokounmpo. 6.8 PPG his rookie year (lead rookies in blocks though), then 12.7, then 16.9, then 22.9 and 26.9…you get it.
Not saying they’re the same guy, but it gives a solid sense of comparison imo.
Full team effort, big ass win and they picked up JB when he needed it. Mitch went off, Randle went off, RJ hit a stride. Loved this game, really speaks to the identity of this team and how it’s a bunch of leaders who can all step up
