I’ve been out of work for a few months due to my industry having a second consecutively shite year. Currently training to be a driving instructor but the bloody test dates are so scarce it’s dragging things on far longer than need be. Be that as it may, I don’t think I want to be a driving instructor really, just giving it a go as it seems fairly stable and it should give me a degree of freedom to study something else if I need or wish to.
I’m hoping that I discover I really enjoy it, being an instructor would be my 4th career change. There is at least one more change as I vowed to do the TEFL and go to somewhere in either Asia or Africa when I hit 50 which isn’t far away, but do I have the energy for a 6th is the question? Of course I do, retirement isn’t for the likes of me!
When I was younger, I imagined at my age I’d be financially secure, have a house, car, wife and children. I have precisely zero of these, but I do have a bike, nephews, and love my own solitude way too much. I think I’ve begun rejecting a lot of ideas that I thought were mine but were dictated to me. As the great philosopher Ezio Auditore da Firenze once said, nothing is true, everything is permitted
Anyway in other news, I was permanently banned from an anti-capitalist sub the other day and it kind of annoyed me.
According to the mods, saying killing is wrong no matter the reason so Israel and Hamas should be condemned is zionism. The mods have yet to provide further comment.
