Imagine an AI with a model trained exclusively on a specific set of medical books, the same set of books all doctors have access to already. While there’s still room for error it would guide the doctor to a very familiar reference. No internet junk, social media, etc.

Exactly as you say. It’s a tool, not a replacement. Certainly not in healthcare anyway.

I’ve been upset for about 10 years or so. I used to use the Love Film service where I got two Blu-ray at a time posted to me. The company was bought my Amazon. Ok, don’t like Amazon but that’s fine, I like the service still. They then incorporate it into their Prime package. I didn’t want anything else, just discs by post. To retain the disc service it cost more than just prime as prime was a requirement. They sneaked Prime onto my account without me realising and the price went up. They were phasing people from discs to online by making it the cheaper option. They then phased the disc service out altogether.

They literally bought Love Film to shut it down.

I’m was happy renting blurays. I switched to buying Blu-ray for a while but I have no where to keep a collection. So I have up and switched to Kodi.

Quite sad really. I still have what were then two good quality Blu-ray players now collecting dust. I sometimes look at them and think one day…

My brother in law used to work in an off licence (booze store) so got to know a number of customers, some of which were drug addicts. They would steal from the local supermarket which was right next door. Things like expensive meats, cheese, coffee, spirits, etc. high value products which are easy to shove in a bag or jacket. They then go and knock on the door of anybody they remotely know who lives nearby, ask if they want to buy some cheap goods. Often about 50% off.

I know people who would buy this stuff. It’s usually stuff straight from the shop but I suppose you can never say for sure.

Were talking about somebody using their own personal email for work purposes. There’s absolutely no assurances on encryption their using. It’s a bigger risk than WhatsApp, although I again should say I agree WhatsApp shouldn’t be used either. Both options aren’t good but for slightly different reasons, in my opinion anyway.

Email can be secure both sides, one side or neither. You can’t rely on it being secure.

Not disagreeing, they shouldn’t use WhatsApp at all, but email is way less secure. Emails are easier to “hack” and if I remember right they were stored on her personal server so she personally keeps the data, a bit like how Trump was found with government documents in his personal belongings. WhatsApp is encrypted end to end and presumably (I hope) are used on gov work phones.

For me it’s more about the lack of controls on accessing and retaining data used in WhatsApp. It’s not stored on a central government system.

I don’t know if the gov have an official messaging app. But hearing all this in the news really sounds like people in gov are intentionally using WhatsApp as a means to keep conversations secret. Like everything else with this government, it stinks.

I maintain a Linux server at work which has our ERP on it (I wouldn’t say I’m great at it but know the basics). I use Linux at home for a few projects and things like routers, etc. My daily PC at home is Windows. I like Linux but the issues I’ve had in the past, while they can be resolved, generally take up more time that I’m willing to put in. I don’t want a hobby just to keep my PC working.

I didn’t used to vote when I was in my 20’s. At the time I didn’t listen to the news or watch TV. I didn’t vote because I had no idea who to vote for. Totally disconnected. It seemed a bit wrong to vote on something I know little about so I would choose not to.

If voting was mandatory it wouldn’t have changed my lack of interest or knowledge.

Thankfully I’m more engaged these days but I think there’s a lot of people out there who aren’t.
