It is the way the world of trademarks work. If you do not defend them, you lose them. This includes even very minor infringements (think mom and pop), not even something large like U of Houston.

I’ve imported three Porsches from Europe. You already seem to know that you need an exclusion to do this and you have one with the 25+ year rule. You file paperwork with the EPA, they send you approval, you work with an importer to ship your car. In my cases I was importing race cars but same basic idea, I just use the race car exclusion.
