Whether it’s draft picks or coaches/GMs, I’ve been of the belief that you need to give them three years to properly evaluate them. I hoped his 2nd coaching gig would better than his first, like Belichik and Carroll. And I gave McDaniels the benefit of the doubt last year. But things didn’t get better. He lost me with the decision to go for the FG rather than the TD against Pittsburg. I thought Ziegler might have held some promise, but I’m not upset that he’s gone.

In the era of free agency, I can’t think of any players who 1)were 1st round picks, 2)were good/great players, and 3)played their entire career with the team that drafted them.
